Vacancy ID : 028501 Closing Date : 26-May-2024We are seeking two excellent postdoctoral researchers to join the Supramolecular Chemical Systems Group in the Chemistry Department at Maynooth, led by Dr Rob Elmes. These positions will be on a multidisciplinary collaborative project between MU, the SSPC (SFI’s Centre for Pharmaceutical Research) and Axelyf ehf, an Icelandic biopharmaceutical company developing medicines for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. The primary objective of the project is the design and synthesis of lipids for biomolecule delivery. The successful candidates will carry out synthesis and evaluation of lipids for intracellular delivery of RNA and other biomolecular cargo, with the ultimate-goal of achieving demonstration of potential for new therapeutic delivery agents. This will involve evaluating all synthesised candidates through spectroscopic measurements as well as through a range of traditional physicochemical methods.Senior Postdoctoral Researcher (2024) Salary Scales: €51,677 – €56,202 p.a. (4 points)Postdoctoral Researcher (2024) Salary Scales: €43,908 – €50,302 p.a.
