Tyndall is home to a research community of 650 people of over fifty nationalities.The post is with the Advanced Materials and Surfaces group (AMSG) is part of the CMOS++ Research Cluster within the Micro & Nano Systems Centre (MNS) at Tyndall. CMOS++ brings together over 15 research leaders across Tyndall to address emerging materials, devices and architectures for next generation information-processing technologies that interface with and advance beyond CMOS. MNS is one of the main research Centres at Tyndall with over two hundred researchers active in the key themes of Emerging Material and Devices, Micro-Power Platforms, Integrated Sensors, Integrated Circuit Design and Smart System Integration.Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to implement a specific research programme in association with the Principal Investigator to support the development of Tyndall’s atomic scale processing of metal oxides. You will report to, and be directed by, the AMSG group head. More specifically, we are seeking a highly motivated candidate to drive research activities in the development of semiconducting and phase change metal oxides for logic and memory devices. The primary task will be experimental atomic layer deposition (ALD) and etching (ALE) to develop materials, characterise and then, through process engineering, tune their properties to meet stringent requirements for integration into electronic devices. The candidate will also be expected to become actively involved in the broader research programme of the Advanced Materials and Surfaces Group.Key Duties and Responsibilities
