Join us in redefining the boundaries of what’s possible.With the worldwide ageing of the population, the number of presbyopes increases and the need to find more innovative and effective ways to correct vision with age too.Personalization is key to improve the performance of our progressive lenses. As each person is unique, we need to propose new parameters of personalization in order to offer the right solution to the right people.You mission:As part of the Presbyopia & Ageing research team (8 people based in Paris), you will study the evolution of the healthy visual system and of the visual needs from early adulthood through all stages of life. You will also study the impact of different eyeglasses on vision, adaptation, balance and posture.More precisely, you will propose and test new innovative concepts of personalized progressive lenses. To do so, you will coordinate upstream projects including scientific experiments on progressive lens wearers using innovative tools like eye-trackers, motion capture sensors, VR/AR headsets, EMG, etc…The collected data will also allow to improve our simulation models.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:

• Propose and validate new innovative personalization concepts of visual correction for young adults or presbyopes.
• Propose and coordinate scientific experimentations on wearers to validate the interest and the performance of these concepts through virtual, inLab or real life tests.
• Manage upstream projects related to these personalization concepts.
• Protect (IP) and/ or publish results to support products’ claims.

Expected deliverables :

• New concepts of personalization
• Scientific and clinical experimentations results & reports
• Scientific publications and IP on technical results (White Paper)

TECHNICAL SKILLS & BACKGROUND OF THE CANDIDATE

• Expertise in Optometry, Vision Science or Optics (Master degree or PhD), or an Engineering degree in Optics with a specialization or experience in the biomedical field
• You will ideally have 5-10 years of experience in research studies management.
• Innovative thinking skills
• Research methodology skills
• Scientific writing & technical communication skills
• Knowledge of compliance and regulations of clinical studies
• Project management
• Statistical analysis skills
• Biomechanics or neuroscience skills will be a plus
• Knowledge about progressive lenses, Essilor products, progressive designs, Essilor Instruments
