VHIR offers a vacant position for a senior researcher with experience in the nanobiotechnological field. Especially in design, bio fabrication and pre-clinical testing of nanomedicines from biological origins. WeThe candidate will be hired to work in a national project (CPP2022-009780) at the CB-DDT group. Our group runs the Unit 20 on in vivo experimental research, also known as Functional Validation & Preclinical Research (FVPR).FVPR/U20 is a service platform offering customized assays for the production and functional validation of diagnostic or therapeutic compounds. FVPR/U20 is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis, a reference infrastructure in the development of biomaterials and nanomedicines. • PhD in Biotechnology.

Experience and knowledge:Required:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in postdoctoral research
• Biomedical application of biological nano-systems.
• Biotechnological processes for the production of high-added value biotherapeutics.
• Characterization of nanoscale materials.
• Strong profile in molecular biology.
• Cancer pre-clinical models.
• Imaging of biological samples.
• Good publication records, including at least 3 articles as last/corresponding author.
• Capacity to lead research teams.
• Capacity to attract competitive national and international funds.

Desired:

• Good writing and communication skills
• Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (C2 level)
• Good computer skills, basic knowledge in bioinformatic and statistical analysis
• Background in cancer research
• We are looking for a person who has a proven hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable. Additionally, the following personals skills are desirable:

Main responsibilities and duties:Role in the project: The candidate will oversee the biofabrication of the engineered MycoChassis and the optimization of the bioproduction and isolation strategy. The candidate will be responsible for the timely production, consistency and reproducibility of the MycoChassis batches. The candidate will be requested to continuously monitor, identify and optimize any step during the whole bioproduction process leading to better yields and quality of the final biotherapeutic. In addition, the candidate will participate in the characterization and validation of the biomedicines in pre-clinical cancer models and collaborate in preparing the technical and administrative reports to the funding authorities.Labour conditions:

• Full-time position (40 h/week).
• Incorporation: Immediate
• Length of the contract: Up to the end of the project.
• Gross annual salary: 41.000 €. The salary will be commensurate according to experience and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement play scale at VHIR’s.
• Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
