Join a leading Irish bank committed to driving the highest standards of risk management and compliance. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Risk Assurance Specialist to join our Second Line Assurance team, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust risk management practices across the Group.  Second Line Assurance play an important role in informing senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of our risk management and internal control environment. Our team is led by the Head of Second Line Assurance who reports into the Group Chief Risk Officer, Group Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee.

Second Line Assurance is a team of specialists across several diverse areas – including Sustainability & ESG, Operational Risks, Resilience, Financial Risks, Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance, Business Model & Strategy and Conduct & Culture – accessing senior stakeholders within the organisation and plenty of opportunities to obtain great exposure and experience across all areas of the Bank. As the Senior Risk Assurance Specialist within the risk assurance team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assurance reviews, including control testing, to identify and mitigate risks across the Bank. You will work closely with senior risk leaders and various departments to provide independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the Bank’s risk management framework.

 

Key accountabilities;

-Assist the Review Manager in defining a review scope, test strategy, and execute testing.
-Complete comprehensive testing to allow for the identification of issues.
-Assist the Review Manager in preparing and agreeing detailed final review reports for senior management.
-Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding issues.
-Interact professionally and efficiently with business areas and key stakeholders.
-Support the delivery of reviews across the wider risk assurance team, providing your knowledge, technical expertise and insights, to develop innovative testing solutions
-Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks.
-Contribute to committee and board reports to ensure senior management are up to date and aware of key risk issues.
 

What you Will Bring ;

-Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Risk Management, Compliance or Audit in a Banking environment and associated risks, clear understanding and knowledge of control and risk management methodologies and financial services industry products and regulations.
-Proven experience in conducting assurance reviews and control testing.
-Understanding and working knowledge of business, risk management and governance processes including risk and controls assessments
-For this role, there is a preference for professionally qualified candidates in the areas of Risk, Auditing and Compliance
-Consistently demonstrate initiative, excellent attention to detail, solution focussed and ability to work to deadlines
