And so much more.​​ Come break through with us.Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.SCOPE OF POSITION:The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the Strategic Sourcing of Direct Materials and cooperates with multiple functions on the plant level, regional level and in GSM. Personal and Business Objectives include identifying and driving Direct Material Cost Reduction, Supply Assurance and Supplier Performance Management through adoption of Direct Material Project Management Best Practices. The position reports directly to the Manager, EMEA OCS Procurement and is part of the Global Supply Management network.RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the execution of Category strategies for Direct Materials
• Assure supply and lead the resolution process if critical situations occur
• Negotiate sourcing conditions, Frame Agreements and Project Agreements
• Identify new or alternative suppliers
• Lead the sourcing process to mitigate the risk of supply disruption
• Lead the TCO process
• Assure regular assessments for suppliers classified as Critical to Operations
• Create risk mitigation analysis and prioritize actions to close gaps
• Collaboration with Supply Chain to optimize inventory metrics [Lead Time, MOQ etc.]
• Own, create and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Represent GSM in cross-functional Project teams
• Collect and analyze spend data and monthly savings reporting
• Collaboration with Shared Service to ensure timely payment to suppliers
• Advocate the use of sophisticated digital tools (e.g. ARIBA eAuction | Power Bi)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Academic Degree in Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain, Business Administration or alike
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Project Procurement
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing industry
• Very good command of English language
• Good knowledge of SAP R/3, MS Office software (EXCEL)
• Understands the importance and value of open communication and sharing of information
• Understanding of Supplier Cost Structures
• Legal knowledge and contract negotiation skills considered a plus
• Attention to details, proactive approach, commitment and high motivation
