What are we looking for?As a Senior System Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain a secure, scalable, and high-performing hybrid IT Infrastructure. You will play a key role in managed hosted environments, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure/AWS), and on-premises systems, ensuring reliability, automation and seamless integration across services.You will take ownership of critical systems, driving improvements in monitoring, governance, and operational efficiency. Working closely with the Infrastructure Manager, you will help shape best practices, and contribute to strategic projects that enhance infrastructure resilience and performance.Your expertise will ensure systems meet business needs while maintaining security, uptime, and scalability. You will proactively identify and resolve inefficiencies, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT operations with the company goals.What will you do?You will be responsible for:

• Infrastructure Management – Deploy, optimise and maintain hybrid cloud/on-prem systems (servers, storage, networking, virtualisation).
• Cloud & Automation – Manage and automate cloud environments (Azure/AWS), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security & Compliance – Implement security best practices, patch management, and compliance controls.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Proactively monitor systems, resolve incidents, and conduct root cause analysis
• Mentorship – share knowledge to elevate team capabilities.

• Reverse Proxies
• Load Balancing

Database & Caching

• Microsoft SQL Server (Deployment, Maintenance, Performance tuning)
• Redis (Caching, Clustering, Sentinel)
• Elasticsearch (Setup, Index Management, Monitoring)

Messaging

• RabbitMQ (Configuration, Queues, Clustering, Monitoring)

Containerisation & Orchestration

• Docker (Containers, Image Management)

Cloud & Automation

• Experience with Azure (VMs, Networking, Storage)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, Ansible)
• Scripting (PowerShell, Bash)

Monitoring & Automation

• Logging & APM Tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Monitoring Solutions (Zabbix)
• Performance Tuning
• Root Cause Analysis

Desirable Skills
