We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to undertake research as part of a BBSRC-funded grant. The focus of this grants is to investigate the role of post-transcriptional gene regulation (with a focus on mRNA methylation) in regulation of plant development and immune responses. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with a Research Fellow and will employ molecular biology, genetics, and physiology approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which mRNA methylation (m6A) regulates expression of defence gene expression. This exciting project builds upon our previous work, characterising components of the Arabidopsis m6A writer complex and the proteins that “read” this information.
