Job Opportunity: Senior Planner – Renewable Energy & Infrastructure
Full-time | Permanent | Galway or Dublin (Hybrid Options Available)
A leading third-party recruitment agency is working on behalf of a prominent and fast-growing Irish consultancy to find an experienced Senior Planner for a permanent role based in either Galway or Dublin.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of Ireland’s most respected multi-disciplinary consultancies, recognised for its expertise in ecology, planning, and environmental services. With a team of over 200 professionals and a portfolio of complex, high-impact projects, our client is a key player in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the Planning team, leading major renewable energy and infrastructure projects from inception to delivery. You will work closely with internal specialists and external stakeholders, driving forward high-quality planning submissions and delivering project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on the delivery of planning applications for renewable energy projects

Oversee planning assessments, reports, and coordination of planning inputs
*
Act as primary point of contact for client representatives
*
Engage with authorities and stakeholders on environmental and planning matters
*
Deliver high-quality project outputs within agreed timelines
*
Mentor junior planners and contribute to team development
Candidate Requirements
Minimum 6 years of post-graduate experience in planning, ideally in a consultancy setting

Degree in Town Planning (IPI or RTPI accredited)
*
Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system and relevant national and EU legislation
*
Proven experience in managing large-scale renewable energy projects
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*
Full, clean driver’s licence required
