We are on an ambitious journey and looking for a passionate and committed Service Manager to lead and develop our locality social work teams ensuring best practice and good outcomes for children and families.As the Service Manager you will be required to demonstrate professional expertise and leadership skills, to inspire and create the conditions that will enable practitioners to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.The Service Manager for Assessment and Intervention will:
You will have responsibility in ensuring that practitioners are provided with opportunities to develop their skills and to embed a culture of Continuous Professional Development within Children’s Service.As a strategic change manager, you will be instrumental in the shaping and commissioning of services and will lead on identifying ways of improving outcomes for children and families developing creative solutions, responding to changes in legislation and practice. You will have a key role in monitoring both individual and team performance and will have responsibility for overseeing the completion of audits, analysing information and putting in place any required strategies for improvement.Developing critical partnerships across the Council and with key partners to deliver seamless services across boundaries taking a whole system approach is also key to this job.At Kirklees we want to be innovative and creative in the way we work to deliver our services to our children and young people. You will lead your teams to deliver a service where children feel safe, are consulted about their concerns, are listened to and responded to with appropriate actions.We are also looking for an experienced manager with a proven track record in managing employees, budgets and performance. You will have a strong understanding of what best practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives, as well as the continuous professional development of practitioners. We are pioneering a Restorative Practice approach to our work which involves innovation and locality working with high quality relationships at the heart of our approach. A creative and flexible approach to work and the drive and motivation to improve our services are key.In return we will provide you with a comprehensive induction program dedicated to supervision and a range of comprehensive Continuous Professional Development opportunities.You must hold a Social Work England (SWE) recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with SWE.An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this job.
