Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. ‘Seedlings’ a Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) service provides a completely person-centred STH service to adults with Autism. This opportunity provides hands-on learning alongside the Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) Co-ordinator in a dynamic, fun and creative environment. You will be given opportunities to develop creative and diverse communication pathways that best give a voice to our Seedlings participants. Through active involvement, you will receive guidance on building positive relationships with the people we support, as well as guidance on designing and providing a Horticulture Mentorship Programme that supports our Outreach participants. As part of the experience, you will be creating a garden visitor map and nature-based stories that create a world of magick and wonder; where our imaginations are ignited and our hearts are touche This work experience opportunity is open to all, with no prior experience required. As part of the placement you will receive accredited and sector-recognized training to support your learning journey. Throughout the experience, you will receive ongoing training and mentoring. You will work closely with the Social and Therapeutic Horticulture Co-ordinator to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as: Learning about the attributes of Social and Therapeutic Horticulture Planning and delivering Horticulture Mentorship Outreach programs Building positive and supportive connections with the STH Seedlings team and the people we support Exploring communication pathways in a creative, fun and diverse way Inviting a sense of play and wonder to permeate through the art of stories Bringing artistic flair into the world of garden map making.Role Description This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. • Corporate Induction to Praxis Care.
