We are part of the Children and Families Department at Leicestershire County Council and we are rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted.You can find out more about us Instagram, search “Leicestershire Youth”We look forward to welcoming you into the Youth and Justice Service!About the RoleDue to a long-standing member of the current team retiring, we are looking for a Therapeutic Social Worker who will continue to drive forward direct work with children around harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).The successful candidate will have significant experience of completing AIM3 assessments and the delivery of interventions in line with assessments, such as the Good Lives Model. This therapeutic intervention will be delivered to children and young people as directed by the Youth Court.The role has a combination of direct delivery of interventions to children and their families, along with developing the Youth Justice Harmful Sexual Behaviour Pathway. This would include deepening Service understanding and delivery around technology assisted HSB and sexual harm against siblings.You would have a small caseload of children and young people. You may be required to attend Youth Court as a subject matter specialist to provide advice to the Court for which full training will be provided.As a service, there is a growing demand for work around HSB and this post would complement a number of already AIM3 trained workers within the Service.If you are making the transition from Social Work into Youth Justice, we will provide you with the full training required to make this move successfully.   • Be a qualified Social Worker holding a Social Work degree or equivalent, e.g., CQSW, DipSW (with specialism in children’s services) and be registered with Social Work England, hold a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Significant knowledge and experience of working with children and young people around harmful sexual behaviour, particularly the application of the AIM3 framework.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of social work legislation, methodologies, social care policies, guidance, procedures and case reviews with a commitment to your continuous professional development.
  • Have ability and experience of supporting with service performance and the learning and development of individuals as well as a team.
  • Have experience and understand the importance of multi-agency working and the differing roles, responsibilities, remit and functions of other parts of the wider service and agencies.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, including representatives from other agencies, using skills of negotiation and persuasion. Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word, and database applications.
  • Excellent demonstration of the ability to prioritise effectively across a wide range of competing demands to meet deadlines. Time management skills and the ability to respond flexibly to changing requirements.
