The Danish National Genome Center’s primary task is to establish the foundation for the development of better diagnostics and more targeted treatments using Whole Genome Sequencing. The Center has a national responsibility to develop state of the art infrastructure to enable analysis on big biomedical heterogenous data.One of the Danish National Genome Center’s main goals is to be at the forefront of new big data solutions in the healthcare domain. The Danish National Genome Center is working with high performance computing as a service (HPCaaS) and different types of infrastructure and cloud services. This include the full stack from network, servers, storage, applications, users and cross-cutting processes in a Linux software environment.About the position
We are looking for a profile who have either worked as infrastructure or DevOps engineer – or a new graduate with a master’s degree in computer science or a closely-related field. You’ll be part of a small team within the Section for Health, Research and International Relations. The team is contributing to the center’s new infrastructure effort. You’ll be responsible for driving technical solutions from proof-of-concept to production. One of our core technologies is Nix; but don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar, you’ll have the time to learn.On a day to day basis, you are expected to work collaboratively with the team to develop the center’s infrastructure. This will include evaluating technologies to solve technical challenges, deploying and maintaining core services, automating recurring tasks, reviewing code produced by other team members, and assisting other teams with their technical needs. You will also engage with end users (mainly researchers and public agencies) advising on how to use the infrastructure and develop customized solutions to key users. Terms will be based on the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the relevant trade union.
