Job Title: Software Qi Standards Engineer
Location: Remote
Employment Type: 6 month contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a Software Qi Standards Engineer to develop, test, and ensure compliance with the Qi wireless charging standard. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to integrate Qi-compliant solutions into software and embedded systems, ensuring performance, efficiency, and adherence to the latest Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and optimize Qi-compliant software for wireless charging systems.
•Ensure software meets WPC Qi standards, including interoperability, power transfer efficiency, and safety regulations.
•Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate Qi charging protocols into embedded systems.
•Conduct testing, debugging, and validation of wireless power transmission software.
•Stay up to date with Qi standard updates and implement necessary software modifications.
•Perform compliance testing and certification support for Qi-enabled devices.
•Develop and maintain software documentation, including API references and test reports.
•Work with external certification bodies and the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) to ensure full compliance with Qi specifications.
Key Requirements:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
•Experience in wireless power transfer technologies and Qi standard compliance.
•Strong proficiency in C, C++, Python, or Embedded C for firmware and software development.
•Knowledge of power management, embedded systems, and microcontrollers.
•Experience with wireless communication protocols (e.g., NFC, Bluetooth, or RF communication).
•Familiarity with WPC Qi standard specifications, including power profiles, FOD (Foreign Object Detection), and communication protocols.
•Experience with compliance testing and debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers, protocol analyzers).
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Hands-on experience with Qi-enabled devices and charging solutions.
•Familiarity with wireless charging standards beyond Qi, such as PMA or AirFuel.
•Experience working with wireless power test labs for certification.
•Understanding of EMI/EMC compliance requirements.
•Certifications in embedded software development or power electronics.
