The Microsoft Telco & Media Industry Partner Sales (T&M IPS) team is at the forefront of industry transformation. Our collaborative approach involves working closely with customers, partners (ISVs, SIs), and industry leaders to drive success on Azure and create tailored solutions that enable digital transformation.
We are seeking a dynamic Solution Director with deep expertise in the telecommunications (telco) sector. As a Solution Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Telco strategy, identifying market gaps, and driving growth through innovative industry solutions. Your mission: transform ideas into reality, collaborate with lighthouse customers and strategic partners, and propel our solutions to the general market.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Microsoft’s Telco Industry CTO, Regional Business Leaders (RBL), Industry Advisors (IA), and field teams to land priority scenarios. Your insights and expertise will shape our approach to industry challenges.
Ecosystem Engagement: Engage with our partner ecosystem to identify strategic and market-moving partners. You’ll play a pivotal role in enabling priority scenarios and driving innovation.
GTM Planning: Develop a clear Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and execution plan for priority scenarios. Your vision will guide our efforts to transform the industry.
Thought Leadership: Think beyond the status quo. Drive transformation and innovation that creates lasting impact. Be the go-to subject matter expert (SME) within our Worldwide Industry Team.
Competitive Differentiation: Deepen your knowledge of our competitive advantages. Understand what sets us apart and use that insight to drive conversations and build client relationships.
Trusted Advisor: Support solution sales by providing commercial teaching. Help customers see the value we bring and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Participate in cross-team governance processes. Represent the needs of industry solutions, customers, and the field. Collaborate with engineering and corporate functions to develop innovative strategies.
Performance Excellence: Drive performance and business results. Deliver robust reporting and learnings to enhance our impact.
Industry Advocacy: Be an advocate for the Telco industry within Microsoft. Champion our solutions and contribute to industry thought leadership.
Qualifications
Experience and strong understanding of OSS/BSS in telco– and the value / cost drivers that can move the industry.
Demonstrated experience as a senior industry solution sales or consulting position in a competing, partner, or operator company
Knowledge of TM Forum Open Digital Architecture (ODA), TM Forum Open APIs, and other relevant industry standards (TM Forum or telco industry certifications are a plus).
Master communicator with superb ability to translate technology solutions into business outcome driven sales tools.
Deep industry expertise to enable translation of business requirements into field and customer messaging and readiness materials.
Skilled at prioritization, creating order and marshalling resources towards achieving a common goal.
Confidence under pressure especially within tight timelines.
Experienced in solution selling methodology.
Experience in managing virtual teams without authority.
Flexibility to accommodate change and thrive amid ambiguity.
Passion for technology as an enabler for company growth.
Bachelor’s Degree or related field preferred.
Experience in sales, sales management, complex sales training, sales methodologies, broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), and consultative selling preferred.
