About the Department

The Strategic Space Management Team provide an in-house advisory and planning service which focuses on workplace and occupancy strategy, space management and analytics, new ways of working and change management.

About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director Space and Workplace Transformation, the successful candidate will work at a strategic and operational level to plan and advise on campus space strategies and the requirements for the short, medium and long term requirement.

The Space Manager will play a pivotal role in improving the way the University uses its space, supports strategic growth, improves the utilisation of the estate, and enhances workplace experience.

About You

You will possess proven experience and a track record of successfully leading the development and implementation of space and workplace strategies at a senior and influential level, preferably in a Higher Education environment.

The successful candidate will establish a strong evidence base for space planning, including the production and analysis of utilisation data, establishing benchmarks, and constructing strategic scenario plans to forecast the demand for space to inform decision making. The Space Manager will work closely with our internal clients at a strategic level to ensure that facilities are fit for purpose and achieve optimum use of space.
