What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Snr Manager, PMO Critical Systems Division, Electrical Sector EMEA, the Program Manager will represent and lead effective cross functional decision-making processes that will efficiently leverage small to medium size investments to achieve the program’s desired business benefits.

Primary responsibilities include identification, planning and coordination of medium complexity/scale programs. This includes strategic customer programs as well as operations programs including managing their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives. The range of projects varies, ranging from Strategic M&A due diligence and integration projects, complex international footprint optimisation projects, critical cross-business customer or segment growth projects etc.

The Manager, PMO will work closely with both direct and matrixed leadership teams to ensure that financial and growth objectives are met. Responsibilities also include supporting the Business Unit General Managers, and Division Functional Managers in developing and implementing the overall business strategy to support achievement of the organization’s financial metrics and goals as defined by the profit and strategic plans.

Responsibility

Program Execution :

  • The incumbent will develop Program Management Plans for medium complexity programs, including a well structured WBS and program schedule that is built with cross-functional input, ensuring the program priority is understood and the program is properly staffed.

  • She/he drives program scope change management and holds regularly scheduled team meetings with a focus on driving accountability and ensuring follow through against commitments and action items.

  • She/he will use tools to assess program health and trends including RIO methodologies to identify, quantify and manage risks & opportunities and their respective mitigation plans and actions. Leverages prior lessons learned, captures new lessons learned and shared them.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • The incumbent will have expertise in assessing and validating customer wants, needs, and pain points with others when needed.

  • She/he takes full accountability for programs and seeks to influence others. The incumbent works closely with business leads & contracts to negotiate scope changes

  • The incumbent will effectively communicate in a timely & transparent fashion with both internal and external leaders. They establish strong relationships with cross-functional leadership and key customers at a similar level.

  • The incumbent ensures relevant contracts are well understood by the Program team and adheres to baseline change management. They ensure requirements are clear and accurately captured in a robust Statement of Work prior to baseline.

  • The incumbent is experienced beyond own functional domain and understands how the various parts of the organization operate to develop and launch products.

  • They have a full understanding of all aspects of the business case and how the program fits into the strategic product roadmap.

  • The incumbent has knowledge of competitive and complementary products, clearly understanding when events or changes impact the business case, communicating the impacts and driving the program team to make decisions based on the business impact. They understand product, customer and development requirements, ensuring they are considered during program execution.

  • They ensure scope and program execution enables a successful Entry-Into-Service (EIS), continually updating and communicating necessary information across the team, clearly articulating the total value proposition to the customer.

Team Leadership in a Matrixed Environment

  • The incumbent inspires the team to meet commitments, recognizing strengths & weaknesses and providing mentoring and coaching of team members. They lead by example in a professional manner, with an awareness of cultural diversity.

  • She/he effectively communicates across the team to ensure alignment and consistent understanding of current program status. Team members may be more distributed and participate in a virtual environment.

  • The incumbent adjusts leadership style based on the situation, team and organizational dynamics. They apply organizational change management principles and tools to ensure effective communication, training, feedback, and mitigation when deploying change.

  • The incumbent acts as a coach with team members when necessary to improve performance and regularly offers performance feedback in a proactive manner.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Electrical Engineering or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred, MBA from a top-tier business school would be considered a strong plus

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in Program Management, thereof ideally 2+ years gained in a top tier consultancy and further experiences gained in another line-management role (e.g. Product Line Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and/or related support functions) in an industrial company.

  • Manufacturing experience is a must

  • Experience in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes, and tools

  • Proven Leadership skills – capability to lead change in a matrix organization across multiple sites.

  • Exposure to international project manufacturing operations

  • Experience in Risk Management

  • Willingness to travel
