FulltimeThis is a pivotal position that will play a key role in the strategic development of Raja’s future. Reporting directly to the Director P&A, you will be responsible for driving Raja successfully into the strategic growth market of Furniture though management of the product and services portfolio.
In this role you are responsible for the RAJA Office product assortment, service offer and vendor strategy, OEM and Own Brand, for furniture across all European markets in which Raja operates. You will play a critical role to drive cost, margin and sales improvement in this category through a strong management of costs, selling prices, supply chain effectiveness and sales strategy.
From your professional background you will bring a strategic vision for category development and a proven track record in sourcing, purchasing and assortment strategy.Responsibilities

  • Develop a common category strategy, European product assortment offer and sourcing strategy across the 10 European Raja markets, to support the growth ambitions of Raja.
  • Lead the overall supplier relationship management across the 10 markets, including Vendor selection, negotiation, tender process, benchmarking and performance evaluation.
  • Deliver operational success for your category within the 7 Viking markets, leading the overall assortment offer including product, vendor, selling price, and promotion.
  • Define assortment review, negotiation cycles and lead vendor negotiations, improving purchasing costs, contractual agreements, rebates and supply chain efficiencies to optimize profitability and sales growth.
  • Negotiation of all purchasing conditions (contract T&C, programmes, pricing) for common vendors and products.
  • Translate the category, assortment and vendor strategies into an annual operating plan, including assortment, sales, profitability and vendor targets.
  • You will own the own brand Viking assortment for the category, defining the products, vendors, tender cycles, negotiations and supply performance to ensure own brand products are driving growth and profitability across all Raja markets and are available on time, to the agreed specifications.
  • Lead the identification, development and roll-out of category-specific service solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics. Utilize insights to inform purchasing decisions and assortment strategies that meet customer needs and drive market differentiation.
  • Support the needs of all customers, including mid-large accounts which may require a specified assortment. Work with Sales to supply specified products, big deal/tender support requests, in line with agreed commercial criteria.
  • Manage all forms of contractual agreements, ensuring they are maintained, stored and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure central vendor rebates are well monitored and optimised.
  • With the support of the Pricing team, you will be responsible to ensure that you define selling prices in line with the relevant pricing strategy per Viking market and each country’s price position index to drive demand.
  • Provide market relevant insights linked to vendors and cost developments, forecasting future cost to enable stakeholders to manage any commercial impact.
  • Overall forecast, demand and availability across all Raja Office markets in conjunction with Supply-Chain.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally, influencing key stakeholders to execute all assortment and vendor plans on time. Work in close collaboration with suppliers, Merchandising, Product Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and Finance to maximise business results.
  • Recruit, lead, manage and develop the category team.

Qualifications and skills

  • Driven by the desire to achieve outstanding results, you will be relentless in your approach to deliver best practice and you will thrive in a pressured environment.
  • You will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing and purchasing strategies that drive sales and profitability as well as being able to analyse statistics and spot trends.
  • You must be a good communicator at all levels, with the ability to influence others and have the self-confidence to challenge and drive performance.
  • A strong team player who can build relationships with stakeholders across geographically dispersed participants, where there is no direct management line of responsibility.
  • Have strong organisation (anticipation, planning and reporting) skills.
  • Strong commercial skill set, with the ability to turn data-driven facts into opportunities.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sourcing, purchasing, category management in a similar position or in a procurement role with an international B2B/retail company.
  • Multi-channel environment experience.
  • Experienced in leading, managing, developing and recruiting a team.
  • Excellent spoken and written English is mandatory. Other language skills (Dutch, French or German) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Since a key success factor of this position is the ability to manage the relationship with all Raja Office markets, mobility of the individual is very important.
