The Student Services department at UWL provides support across five distinct areas; Wellbeing, covering disability and mental health, counselling and faith, Student Advice and Immigration, covering student money matters, scholarships & bursary’s and international student funding advice, Placement and Employment covering, providing placement across the academic schools and helping students find temporary and full time employment for students during and after study, Careers & Volunteering covering, careers advice and volunteering opportunities, and finally Welfare covering, support for students who are distressed or struggling to stay on course due to personal issues and the student liaison team who provide enquiry desk support and ID cards services across the university.
Provide consistent and high quality first point of contact for students accessing support services at UWL.
To be a ‘super user’ for a Student Support web-based software programme where students book appointments with the various support teams.
To acquire and maintain up to date information on all services available to students at UWL.
To assist in the production of ID Cards for students and staff.
To be part of a team monitoring a busy inbox and phone line along with face to face enquiries.
Degree or relevant experience.
Experience of working in a team in a customer facing ‘front line’ service.
Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education environment and, in particular, the role of Student Services provision.
Experience working as a super user and web-based software, as well as other office IT packages.
Excellent customer services skills, strong communication skills and understanding of cross-cultural awareness/working in a diverse community.
