Job Description :Job Title: Statutory Reporting Lead AnalystLocation: BudapestContract: PermanentContext/Scope:Financial Control as a department take responsibility for the classification, consolidation and interpretation of financial data, the coordination and management of financial reporting (including the provision of insight, analysis and the accurate and timely delivery of end market budgets, management accounts and financial accounts) and the monitoring of financial risks.The Statutory compliance area within the Africa Financial Controlling Team is focusing on improving compliance with regulatory requirements with the implementation of Statutory Compliance agenda.Key Stakeholders:
- Finance Business partners & Finance centres of excellence – Collaborate to provide end to end finance delivery for regions/areas/end markets
- Enterprise Operations – Collaborate closely on delivery of the overall end to end service and developing and implementing the target operating model
- Business unit leaders – Create a credible and strong working relationship. Lead and/or contribute to agreed governance forums and processes
- Audit, risk and controls – Collaborate on internal audits and implementation of effective internal controls
External:
- External service providers (e.g. banking, payroll etc) – Maintain operational level supplier relationships
- External auditors – Provide support and responding to requests for information and other questions
Purpose of Role
- To ensure that statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are robust and sustainable and are strictly adhered to in lines with CARM processes
- To take responsibility for the monthly/quarterly controlling for the respective Profit and Loss / Balance sheet area and/or the entity in total
- To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm, and support to the continuous improvement of the “Statutory Compliance” process to be more efficient and standardised.
- To take responsibility for the day-to-day tasks required
- As part of this role, to be responsible for the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and financial relevance of the management information.
Top AccountabilitiesStatutory reporting
- To prepare complex statutory financial statements under IFRS/local GAAP for each financial year in line with timetable. Produce analytical review of statutory accounts to provide meaningful explanation of the entity’s activities and performance during the year.
- To ensure that the year-end financial statements are audit compliant and to ensure that the served markets fully meet external and Diageo internal statutory reporting requirements.
- Be in contact with statutory auditors. Answer questions, resolve issues as arose.
- Planning – Coordinate with markets, sense check and validate the bottom-up results to the top down expectation
- Prepare quality reconciliations through deep understanding of the figures supported, reported
- Continuously monitor the respective P&L and BS accounts for any inconsistencies
- To take responsibility for the day-to-day tasks required
- To ensure that financial processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in lines with CARM processes
- To maximize benefits of globalized system processes
- To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm, and support to the continuous improvement of the process.
- Ensure smooth and accurate month-end reviews
- As part of this role, to be responsible for the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and financial relevance of the management information.
- Participation extensively in projects with the Statutory Reporting and Projects Manager like Project Voyager and Gemini
The qualifications and experience you will bring:
- Degree educated in relevant finance / business.
- 3-4 years experience in similar field
- ACCA/DipIFR qualification is an advantage but not a requirement
- Work Experience in Financial Accounting / Reporting, and/or Statutory Accounting is a must
- Experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment from professional services audit background
- Experience in a Shared services environment is considered as an advantage
- Excellent English knowledge
- SAP, Workiva knowledge
- BFC is an advantage
