Job description

We are seeking an ambitions student research assistant for the research project “Households and the Housing Market” at the Department of Finance. You will be part of an international research group that is using Danish register data to investigate savings and borrowing behavior of Danish homeowners. This position is a great opportunity to find out if a PhD is of interest to you.As student research assistant in the research project, you will participate in preparing and analyzing Danish register data, literature reviews, and some other ad hoc tasks.The position requires commitment of ca. 10-15 hours per week, but with a high degree of flexibility, especially during exam periods.Tasks in the position

• Understanding and preparation of Danish register data
• Econometric Analyses of the data
• Literature Search and preparation of short summaries of research articles

Your ProfileYou are a master student in finance, economics, mathematical economics, or a related field. You have a strong foundation in econometrics, and you have the ambition to work with statistical analysis of register data. Knowledge of software like Stata, R, Python or Matlab is an advantage but not a requirement, as long as you have the willingness to learn. Experience with the analysis of register data is similarly an advantage but not a requirement.We prioritize applicants with an interest in “household finance”, i.e. how individuals and families invest, borrow and consume. It is important that you work in a structured, independent, and conscientious way and that you take the initiative to find solutions to problems.About the Department of FinanceThe Department of Finance has ca. 60 academic employees and 11 administrative employees as well as more than 140 external, part-time lecturers.We have a pleasant and informal work environment, which is characterized by dynamism and high professionalism among our 15 nationalities. You can read more about us here: .Salary and terms of employmentEmployment takes place in accordance with the HK organisational agreement and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Publicly Employed Organisations (OAO-S Collective Agreement).The salary currently ranges between DKK 141.14 and DKK 148.06 per hour and is dependent on education and previous clerical employment.
