Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on Thursday 19 June 2025About the role:The Supporter Engagement Manager: Communications is responsible for designing a programme of printed and digital engagement, from generating content ideas through to overseeing production. Reporting to the Head of Supporter Engagement, and managing the Supporter Engagement Coordinator, the post holder will work to ensure clear communication plans are in place for all supporter groups, which make best use of resources, ensuring all contact is appropriately tailored to the target audience. They will be an ambitious, self-led individual who will need to work with colleagues across the Museum to plan and deliver supporter communications.Key areas of responsibility:1 Develop and deliver annual communication plans for different supporter groups, aligning with Museum objectives and audience insights; oversee the production of the British Museum Magazine.
2 Coordinate cross-departmental content by working with curatorial and departmental teams to ensure diverse Museum work is reflected in supporter communications, including email newsletters.
3 Lead reactive communications, ensuring timely updates on emerging stories are shared with supporters to maintain engagement and relevance.
4 Manage external suppliers and communication services, including overseeing SLAs, re-tendering processes, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all outsourced engagement communications.
5 Collaborate across teams-including Broadcast, Development, Communications, and Patron services-to ensure effective use of video, website updates, integrated messaging, and timely response to supporter and Patron enquiries.About you:
