To help us create value for ourselves and our stakeholders, we are now looking for a passionate and knowledgeable colleague to join the Nordzucker´s Sustainability team with a special focus on sustainable sourcing and sustainability impact assessments.We guarantee a friendly and welcoming workplace where you will have the ability to influence and drive major sustainability projects, with a high degree of responsibility.Sustainability specialistIn this position, you will have a unique opportunity to help Nordzucker to create a meaningful impact and value from our sustainability work, especially in relation to our customers. As our new Sustainability Specialist, you will be working with several activities, such as due diligence in line with the international principles stipulated in the UN Guiding Principles and the OECD Guidelines, implementation of sustainable sourcing, reporting to several sustainability schemes, as well as engagement with customers on sustainable sourcing and production. You will be expected to work closely with several functions across the Nordzucker Group, such as our sourcing departments and our sales team.Responsibilities and tasks:
- Supporting the Sustainability Strategy implementation in the Nordzucker Group
- Supporting the human rights and environmental due diligence processes (e.g. German Supply Chain Act, CSDDD)
- Collaborating closely with several functions on sustainability risk assessments and mitigation processes, including supplier audit processes and M&A sustainability assessments
- Providing support for SMETA audits of our own sites
- Answering questionnaires for public reporting and sustainability impact assessments, such EcoVadis, UN Global Compact and others
- Contribute to value adding processes towards key customers together with our sales teams
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders across the value chain
As an ideal candidate, you:
- Have relevant academic (economic, science or legal) and career background within sustainability
- Can demonstrate competence within sustainability due diligence processes
- Have at least 5 years of experience within sustainability in an industrial context
- Possess Relevant experience from industry, preferably from the food sector
- Have strong communication skills, are proactive, well-organized, understand and enjoy working with diverse set of people
- Have an eye for details and are passionate about Sustainability as a value up driver in business
- Speak English fluently and have excellent writing capabilities
Experience with Sedex SMETA audits and on-site audits of suppliers as well as German language
