Team Leader AccountingImpact of your role:
It is logical that our accounts must follow Belgian accounting procedures and regulations. That is precisely why we are counting on you. As a generalist, you support a team of 5 accountants. You keep the overview and focus on finance compliance.What do you do specifically as a Team Leader Accounting?
You strengthen a team of 5 experts, whom you support as team leader. You are the generalist who keeps the overview and focuses on finance compliance. First of all, you ensure that all our accounting transactions and the financial statements that we draw up comply with accounting standards. Consolidation with subsidiaries is part of this. You verify the information on the application of accounting rules to financial flows or figures.
You also draw up closings – quarterly, monthly or annually – and draw up reports. For some reports, you follow the regulations for annual accounts that are published by the National Bank.
The law stipulates that auditors and the Court of Auditors carry out audits at our organisation. You prepare and follow up on these. If anyone has a question about this, they can contact you.
You also participate in working groups on finance compliance, both internally and externally.What skills do you need to start in this job?● You have a good general knowledge of accounting and finance thanks to a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in a financial field. Ideally, you have at least 7 years of relevant experience.● You are very familiar with the standards of Belgian Generally Accepted Accounting. And you are familiar with the International Financial Reporting Standards.
● You like to analyze. Synthesizing and conceptual thinking are also among your strengths.
● You look forward to achieving goals together with your team and (further) developing your people management skills. Experience with management is not a must.
● You like to organize, follow up proactively and set priorities when necessary.
● You speak and write fluent Dutch and French.● Clearly describing internal procedures and drawing up clear reports is no problem for you.Why choose a job at NIRAS?
