Our Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary team focusing on the needs of people living with the effects of chronic and enduring mental disorders. The Team provides specialist assessments and interventions embracing the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding investigations and protection of human rights and civil liberties.We work to a model embracing self-directed care, utilising strengths-based approaches, co-production and promoting independence. The team is multi-disciplinary, incorporating Community Mental Health Nurses, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Support Workers and clerical staff. The service is for people of adult working age and in addition, supports younger people transitioning from Children’s services to Adult Social Care and also helps older adults to transfer to our Older Adult Teams.Your main duties will include the line management and professional governance of the Social Workers within the team, contributing to the AMHP Duty Rota both as an AMHP and Duty Senior, scrutinising applications for community care funding under The Care Act, chairing Best Interest Assessment meetings and helping oversee Safeguarding enquiries/investigations.For an informal discussion regarding the post please contact Simon McGarry – simon.mcgarry@coventry.gov.uk or Matthew Bilbe – Matthew.Bilbe@Coventry.gov.ukThis post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).Who are we looking for?Applicants should be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and hold a qualification as a Approved Mental Health Professional. You will have experience as a mental health practitioner in a CMHT or similar service with people who live with severe/ enduring mental health issues.We are looking for a Team Leader who is also an Approved Mental Health Professional.
