Team Leader – Post Award

We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader to work in our Post Award Team within the Research Centre of Excellence. The Centre assists with the delivery of the University of Bristol’s internationally renowned research. The team provide key support with the management of research grants and other funding streams across the organisation, delivering accountancy, financial management and reporting services.

As Team Leader you will be responsible for managing and motivating a highly efficient, compliant, and respected finance post award administration team to deliver quality advice and grant management.  You will oversee the day-to-day work of the team while making sure they feel supported and motivated to provide an efficient service and maximise the income recovered by the University.

  • You will lead one of the finance Post Award administration teams, line managing about 8 people.
  • You will oversee the work of the team to ensure deadlines and contractual/statutory requirements are met.
  • Monitoring the team’s outputs and performance against targets and objectives, you will identify impact and address any areas of concern
  • You will provide advice on complex awards and will be a subject matter expert for varying themes for financial grant management.
  • You have team leader experience in a large complex organisation.
  • You have a finance background and a solid understanding of accountancy, with the ability to analyse budgets to identify inefficiencies.
  • You are a proven problem solver, able to lead on queries and can convey complex financial information in a clear format.
  • Communication is key for you, and you can use this skill to motivate others, and build excellent working relationships with your team and other contacts.

Salary: £41,732 – £46,974
