Gameloft is a Vivendi company.All trademarks referenced above are owned by their respective trademark owners.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly technical and creative Technical Animator to join our animation team, with a focus on modular hard-surface rigging, particularly for transformable vehicles. This role will involve building scalable rigs, occasional hand-keyed animation of mechanical parts, and developing tools and workflows to streamline the animation pipeline for these systems.Responsibilities:

• Design and implement modular rigging systems for mechanical and transformable vehicle assets.
• Occasionally create simple, clean hand-keyed animation for moving mechanical pieces or cinematics.
• Implement animation-friendly controls and interfaces for animators.
• Collaborate with modeling, animation, and engineering to ensure asset and rig compatibility across the pipeline.
• Build and maintain tools/scripts (preferably in Python/MEL within Maya) to automate rigging, baking, export, and integration.
• Define and document best practices for hard-surface rigging workflows and maintain pipeline over time.
• Help debug and support rig/animation issues in-engine.

QualificationsQualifications:

• Proven experience as a Technical Animator or Rigging TD in games.
• Strong understanding of mechanical movement and constraints, ideally with transforming vehicles or robotics.
• Advanced knowledge of Maya rigging, including node-based setups and scripting.
• Experience building and maintaining modular rigs that scale to many assets.
• Solid understanding of animation principles and how they apply to hard-surface motion.
• Strong scripting skills (Python/MEL).
• Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical teammates.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure.

Bonus:

• Experience with Houdini for procedural asset rigging or animation setups.
• Hard-surface modelling skills.
• C++ skills for deeper engine integration.
• Interest in robotics, sci-fi vehicles, or mechanical design.
