Our UCA campus at Epsom has become the Centre of Excellence for our School of Fashion and Textiles. As part of these changes, we are developing our new and existing technical resources and at Epsom campus and are therefore looking to grow our family of technicians and seek a Technician in Digital Print Textiles. This is an exciting new role which will contribute to developing and shaping the digital printing resources for Fashion Textiles.
As Technician in Digital Print, your role will be to advise students on the technical development of design images and associated files required for digital printing within the Textiles area, using both reactive and pigment printing and dye sublimation printing. Your role will be to demonstrate and supervise students in the use of fabric steaming equipment and the completion of textile finishing processes.
You will be responsible for maintaining the suite of digital fabric printing equipment and suitable fabrics including a positive film printer and software for producing images for screen printing of fabric.
This position requires knowledge and understanding of the H&S hazards associated with use of specialist equipment and materials relating to printing on fabric and textiles finishing processes. Experience of relevant safe working practices and a high degree of knowledge in all appropriate H&S procedures is a must to ensure the safety of our learners.
You will be able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach when supporting both students and staff. This is a dynamic role that needs excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to apply initiative, problem solve and work as part of a team.
