Detailed job description and main responsibilities
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be an integral member of the Therapy management team, helping support the values of the Trust within therapy services and supporting the streamlining of services for patients. You will be responsible for leading on the development of the staff working across AMU/ED, Medicine and Medicine for Older People wards, as well as within the wider trust according to your dept roles. This will include close working relationships with divisional management teams, care group managers and matrons. With your professional skills you will provide the clinical expertise to support staff working across the wider Trust providing advice, education, and support with complex caseloads.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will develop and convey the “vision” for the whole therapy service working alongside all colleagues to facilitate positive patient experience and outcomes.
You will be responsible for organising the effective management of therapy staff within your allocated Therapy teams, plus supporting rotating B5/B6 staff, and organising the redeployment of staff, and supporting budget targets
You will provide highly specialised clinical advice both within the Trust and externally, particularly linking with community providers to support streamlining the pathways affecting discharge.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a highly experienced therapist, either OT or Physio, with experience working in a fast-paced acute healthcare setting. You need to be experienced in people management, leading a team, be familiar with HR processes and be able to demonstrate good leadership skills. We are seeking someone who is motivated and enthusiastic, having demonstrable skills in MDT working, teaching and education, plus involvement in research and audit.
Core hours will be Monday to Friday however as we run our Therapy service over 365 days a year you may need to work hours at weekends or BH on occasion to support your team who work a 7-day flexible working pattern.
