Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Support: Implement individualised curriculums that emphasise communication and life skills, guided by your understanding of psychological theories and practices.
• Behavioural Support: Use your knowledge of behaviour management to apply theory-based interventions and enhance the quality of life for pupils.
• Personal Care: Support students in maintaining hygiene and personal care routines with sensitivity and compassion.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and adapt teaching methods to ensure they meet each child’s unique needs.

Requirements:

• Experience: Background in psychology, either professionally, personally, or through volunteering, with experience in working with children or disabilities preferred.
• Qualifications: Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent.
• Skills: Ability to handle challenging behaviour and provide personal care with empathy and calmness under pressure.

Training and Development:

• Education & Childcare Courses: Access to RQF CACHE Level 2, 3 & 4 in Early Years, Learning Difficulties, and Teaching & Learning.
• Behaviour Analysis Certifications: Opportunities to gain qualifications like Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).
• Advanced Degrees: Pursue a Master’s in High Incidence & Disabilities with funding options available.
