We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components andsystems for the civil and military aeronautical industryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the turbomachinery field. In this role you will be responsible for the design and development of turbine modules and their layout.
This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Working as part of an integrated global team, in this role you will contribute to the mechanical design of advanced systems and their technology maturation vehicles, with the aim of supporting product evolution and preliminary design activities for future programs.
The job position refers to Advanced Technology Operations with a specific focus on advanced technology engine demonstrators.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop turbine modules and their layout definition.Support components and systems design activities for tests vehicles and new technologies introductionDevelop new mechanical concepts to power new engine architecturesConduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and other team members.Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, specifications and documentation.Perform engineering analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet performance, safety and quality standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality and testing, to ensure successful project execution.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policiesEffectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to the extended teamQualifications/RequirementsProven experience in mechanical design of complex products (preferred turbomachinery or aeroderivative)Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculationsGood knowledge of mechanical stack-upsGood knowledge of Advanced CAD SystemsGood knowledge of 2D and 3D modelling CAD techniquesBasic knowledge of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)Clear thinking and diligent approachEnglish and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral.Good interpersonal and communication skillsWork Visa, according to local regulation, is requiredAvailability of working in classified areas and military programs if requestedDesired CharacteristicsCreativity and curiosityPassionate and enthusiastic for engineering challengesStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong technical aptitudeSolid oral and written communication skillsAnalytical thinking skillsSystem mindset and problem solverWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
