Offer DescriptionGlioblastoma is the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor in humans, with a median survival of around 15 months. Standard treatment (STUPP protocol) has not been modified since 2005 and, although tumors generally relapse, no significant improvement has been achieved clinically in recent years using alternative approaches, such as anti-angiogenic treatments and immunotherapies. This represents an unmet need.In this context and building on the promising results obtained by the team, the candidate will develop stimuli-responsive systems containing cytotoxic metal complexes and anticancer peptide-based ligands. These therapeutic platforms will allow the selective delivery of chemotherapeutic agents in the tumor region. Different chemical and biological tools as well as clinically relevant 3D models of glioblastoma (tumoroids) will be used to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of these therapeutic platforms.
