The successful candidate will work on the GEOMETRIC (GEOphysics and Machine learning for Evaluating Transportation Infrastructure Condition) project ( ). This project is funded by Research Ireland, under the National Challenge Fund Programme. This overall aim of the project is to develop an approach, using Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) of fibre-optic cables, to enable real-time monitoring of transport infrastructure slopes.PD2 Salary: €53,770 -€56,855 Per Annum

*Relevant experience of passive seismic geophysical data processing and inversion.
*Relevant experience of near surface geophysical testing.
*Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
*Capacity to work as part of a team.
*2 years postdoctoral research experience.
*Demonstrated understanding of operational requirements for a successful research project and managing resources.
*Knowledge and application of the principles underpinning successful grant application.
*Ability to identify and fulfil the academic writing requirements for target publications.
*Proven record of working with team members and PhD students to help build their research skill and knowledge and to support and guide their professional development.
*Generates new ideas and links and builds upon existing ideas to generate unique concepts and solutions.
*Candidates must demonstrate an awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion agenda.Desirable:*Experience of using DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing).
*Familiarity with Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) data.
*Experience of writing or contributing to research proposals.
