Our asylum children are looking for one to two volunteer coordinators who are passionate about making a difference, are structured and have a good human understanding.Our Asylum Children is a non-profit organization that aims to promote better and fairer conditions for refugee and asylum-seeking children while they are in Denmark. We work with children and families at risk of deportation. Our unique approach is to review our clients’ legal case and additionally focus on their psycho-social well-being. We have successfully won 95% of our cases, which means that we have secured residence and helped to create a stable and supportive starting point. Our Asylum children won the Children’s Case Award 2019.Our Asylum Children has existed since 2014. The association has three areas of action that together contribute to promoting the association’s purpose.Legal advice:

• We advise on asylum and residence matters
• We support our customers throughout the process in the capacity that is needed

The well-being of refugee and asylum-seeking children:

• We support the child’s well-being, including providing family treatment
• We act as caregivers for the child during the course and if intervention is made against a child

Advocate for the rights of refugees and asylum-seeking children:

• We share stories about the living conditions and fates of asylum children
• We coordinate inter-organisational efforts to improve rights and conditions for asylum children in Denmark

• is used to handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality in relation to our customers, volunteers and business partners.
• communicate clearly and work transparently. You know how to ask for what you need and are straightforward about expectations and issues that you experience in your work.

• likes to work in a team of 2-3 coordinators.

Your main tasks will consist of:

• Recruitment and management of contact persons
• Conducting and moderating volunteer meetings (approximately 2 times a year)
• Engage in ongoing coaching and collaboration with contact persons
• Establishing clear goals and success criteria for contact person tasks
• Evaluation of contact person assignments
• Manage new client intake and match them with volunteer contacts
• Help set up and manage events and activities for volunteers and clients, e.g. Christmas lunch, arts and crafts for the children

Working hours are flexible, but we expect you to be able to work around 4 hours a week for a period of no less than 12 months. This ensures consistency and reliability for the volunteers and those we support. After 3 months, we carry out an evaluation of your tasks and well-being.What we offer

• Supervision with a psychologist if needed, regular check-ins and an environment that cares about your mental health while you volunteer.
• Workshops and training on topics that you can help develop and use immediately in your volunteer work.
• Freedom to organize your volunteer work as it suits your personal life.
• An introduction to the Danish asylum system (3 hour course).
