Volunteering & Community Officer

We’re looking for a Volunteering & Community Officer to engage with local
communities and our volunteers, helping raise awareness of The Greensand Trust and ensure their
experience is both meaningful and rewarding.

This role will be based at our primary engagement locations in Central Bedfordshire of Clophill
Lakes, The Working Woodland Centre at Maulden Wood and Rushmere Country Park, near Leighton
Buzzard, whilst supporting communities and volunteers across the Greensand Trust Area.

The Greensand Trust is an independent environmental charity that works with local communities
and landowners to conserve and enhance the distinctive landscape, wildlife and history of the
Greensand Ridge and wider area, improving access, understanding and enjoyment for the benefit
of everyone.

Engaging local communities is a core objective of the Trust. We know we can achieve far more
with the support and understanding of those who value their local natural environment. This
role, working with other teams, will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery
of community engagement and volunteering throughout the Trust. You will need to nurture the
relationship with existing communities and volunteers whilst identifying new opportunities for
both.
