Cheshire Wildlife Trust are recruiting for a Wilder Lives Officer to support our work with
Champions (leaders within communities and organisations championing nature and wildlife) with
the goal of inspiring people to take action to bring local wildlife back.

£20,854 – £25,096 FTE

Part time, 21 hours per week


Location:
A Cheshire Wildlife Trust operational base

Do you have a passion for working with people and communities, inspiring them with the natural
world? Are you experienced in community engagement? Do you want to be part of driving a
movement and empowering people to take action to bring local wildlife back? We have just the
role for you!

Nature is in trouble. We have reached a tipping point. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and
nationally and our climate is in crisis. By 2030 we must see nature recovering, wildlife
returning and ecosystems restored and we need many, many more people on nature’s side. We
urgently need one in four people to take action to bring wildlife back across our region.

The Wilder Engagement Officer will join the Wilder Engagement Team, responsible for the
development and execution of Cheshire Wildlife Trust events as well as involvement at 3rd party
events and festivals. You will also facilitate the growth of the Champion network, through
training and capacity-building activities, events and webinars.

The ideal candidate with have excellent project management and organisational skills, and the
ability to communicate effectively with people at a range of levels, developing strong
relationships with external partners and organisations.

Our Wilder Engagement work seeks empower and mobilise individuals, families, groups and
organisations via self-sustaining networks and a community organising approach.
