With a starting salary of £22,214 the Venues and Events Operations Assistant role sits within the Events Team of the Venues & Events Department, which is responsible for generating valuable income for the University through the letting of event space, venues for filming production and summer group accommodation. Based at Goldney House in Clifton Village, you will be working alongside the team of Event Coordinators as well as the support services and third-party suppliers we use to facilitate our customers’ events. The events we manage range from small meetings to multi-venue conferences as well as awards dinners, weddings, garden parties, group accommodation and filming production locations.
To support the Venues and Events Office through the provision of operational event assistance across the numerous event venues in the University portfolio. The main purpose of the position is to support the Venues and Events Office with the on the day event delivery ensuring that the client’s expectations are met and that the operational aspects of the event are appropriately managed.
Undertaking pre-event checks ensuring venues are clean and safe for use and undertaking the set-up of event spaces; putting out tables, chairs and furniture and other related manual handling tasks.
Being the main point of contact for our customers on their event day, providing a professional and welcoming reception desk service in a variety of venues. Seeing the events through from start to finish on event day as per customer’s requirements and problem solving as required.
Assisting with general office tasks, including administration tasks such as stock takes, creation of event signage and booking car parking permits.
Due to the nature of the business this role requires regular evening and weekend working on a rota basis.
You have proven experience in an events/hospitality operational environment with experience in a customer service environment.
You have the physical ability and capability to complete manual handling tasks such as room set-up and lifting and moving of equipment, and are able to work on a rota basis.
You have a full UK driving licence, held for at least two years, as you will be travelling around the campus using a departmental vehicle.
