Applications are invited for a Finance Assistant to work in the joint administration team supporting the Department of Haematology and the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI). The Department of Haematology is one of 11 departments and 7 Institutes within the School of Clinical Medicine (SCM) http://www.haem.cam.ac.uk/ . The Institute is a world-leading centre for stem cell research with a mission to transform human health through a deep understanding of stem and progenitor cell biology (http://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk ).
This role is based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The Finance Assistant under the supervision of the Finance Coordinator will provide Finance Service to all Department of Haematology and Institute staff.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to communicate at all levels and who can maintain a high level of accuracy whilst working to deadlines. The ability to work within a small team is essential.
A suitable candidate will be educated to A level standard /NVQ level 3 or an equivalent level of practical experience. They should have finance experience, ideally in a university setting. Candidates should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of financial management software/systems. They should be flexible, with the ability to communicate at all levels and be well-organised so as to manage conflicting deadlines.
Though this is envisioned as a full-time role with the possibility of hybrid working, we will consider requests for arrangements such as part-time work, flexible hours or job shares.
