Funding Development Manager
This role is funded by National Lottery Heritage funding.
Part-time, 12 month fixed-term contract, also open to contractors or self-employed
22.5 hours per week generally worked Monday to Friday but occasionally 5 days out of any 7-day week
Reports to Trust Director
£35,000 per annum, pro rata.
Job Summary
As the Development Manager you will be responsible for the Stanwick Lakes’ fundraising activity including trust and foundation, individual giving campaigns, membership scheme, crowd funding and legacy development. You will work closely with the specialist teams within the organisation (heritage, education, conservation and nature engagement) to develop suitable campaigns, then research and prepare the proposals to deliver them.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and initiate RFT’s 3 – 5 year fundraising strategy, across trust and foundation, individual giving campaigns, crowd funding and legacies, and (working closely with the marketing team) the membership scheme.
- Develop compelling trust and foundation applications, building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and fulfilling all reporting requirements.
- Identify and research prospects, working with the board and the SMT to maximise their networks.
- Grow and sustain an agreed pipeline of donors including giving circles, major donors, unrestricted regular and one-off supporters and legacy development.
- Work with the commercial manager on corporate fundraising strategy and delivery.
- Ensure clear, consistent and engaging messaging is communicated across all fundraising materials and communications.
- Work with the Trust Director and Marketing Manager to develop and distribute successful marketing campaigns/promotional material where relevant to the fundraising strategy.
- Work with the Trust Director to set annual income targets for RFT’s fundraising strategy.
- Provide regular reports to the Trust Director, SMT and Board of Trustees as required.
- Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
- Act as key-holder as required.
- Act as first-aider and fire warden as required.
In addition, all employees are expected to work within the terms of their contract of employment and adhere to Stanwick Lakes policies.
