What You Can Expect

Within this role you would be responsible for directing Medical Education in the given regional area of responsibility by establishing Zimmer Biomet’s leadership in improving the skills of Surgeons and other Health Care Professionals through medical education in line with Global and EMEA Strategy. Specifically, responsible for the design, facilitation and the implementation of product and procedure education for Health Care Professionals which will enhance surgical outcomes and patient results. Continuously improve the Zimmer Biomet Institute (ZBI) educational programs. Responsible for content development and delivery of internal commercial team member training on Zimmer Biomet products and solutions training.

How You’ll Create Impact

• Develop the EMEA Medical Education strategy for dedicated segment and solutions in conjunction with EMEA Marketing and Medical Education and Events

• Develop and nurture relationships with cluster thought leaders in orthopaedics

• Develop best-in-class educational and events programs by designing mixed digital learning approaches to extend reach, increase engagement and enhance the value of in-person learning formats.

• Help identify and leverage leading edge technology for Medical Education (e.g. VR, AR, web platforms for best delivery, etc.)

• Execute best-in-class medical education and training programs that are responsive to the changing needs of our global customers (defined in collaboration with the global commercial organizations)

• Generate new ideas to drive Excellence in Professional Education

• Manage the strategic planning of the Medical Education and Events function. Develop and facilitate annual business plans for the ZBI and Events including surgeon faculty, and educational content for Zimmer Biomet course programs and events at regional level

• Operationalize plans in line with changing business needs, including budget

• Assess learning needs and ensure appropriateness of instructional materials for local culture and language

• Assess and report the instructional effectiveness of course formats and materials through evaluations and feedback

• Work with internal and external stakeholders including Surgeons, Brand Managers, regional RVP’s, Segment Leaders, Country Managers, Legal, Compliance, Event Management and Zimmer Biomet Senior Management to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs

• Communicate frequently and effectively with various project collaborators and subject matter experts to ensure that goals and objectives are being fulfilled

• Content development and delivery of orthopaedics product & solution training, including onboarding, NPI and focus products

• Develops relationships with ZB team members to gain strong understanding of training needs and adapt programs to support the further development of commercial team members

• Develop online content for self-learning via Loop

• Work directly or indirectly with various committees including Business Conduct Committee (BCC), Arrangements Review Committee (ARC), Tender Review Committee (TRC) and others as appropriate

What Makes You Stand Out

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably including formal studies in education and / or business required.

• Significant experience managing others and working directly with customers, technical experts and professional staffs in medical devices or healthcare preferred.

• Experience of Strategic planning preferably of medical education functions, and generating new ideas to enhance customer skills and learning

• Special expertise

• Proficiency with commonly used software and leading technologies within Medical Education

• Ability to establish assigned programs to ensure the maximum effectiveness of the organization’s efforts in achieving strategic goals

• Ability to select and recruit the most effective staff for specific roles and functions in the group

• Ability to define and deliver educational needs of region

• Fluency in English is required and other languages an advantage.
