Offer DescriptionIRTA is currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher with a PhD related to Pathogenesis of viral diseases in animal health, placing emphasis on the immunology, vaccinology and pathogenesis, to join the Animal Health Program. We invite applications from ambitious candidates with relevant research experience and passion to conduct research and innovation activities on classical swine fever (CSF) and related diseases research line. Acceptance of this position implies the privilege of dedicating oneself to research activities and technology transfer, including outstanding participation as a member of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) CSF Reference Laboratory in IRTA.

-Contribute to the activities of the classical swine fever and related diseases research line and activities in the WOAH classical swine fever Reference Laboratory in IRTA.
-Execute scientific and technical tasks and taking part in the planning and execution of the experiments to ensure the achievement of milestones of research projects and contracts.
-Conduct literature review, data collection and management, involving statistical analysis.
-Contribution to the scientific production of the research and innovation activities of the research line.
-Actively contribute fund rising through the preparation and submission of project proposals for public competitive calls and for contracts with the private sector, as well reporting process, such as writing progress and final reports of research activities.RequirementsResearch Field Medical sciences » Veterinary medicine Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsRequired qualifications and experience:
-PhD in veterinary sciences, animal health, immunology, biomedical sciences, biotechnological sciences, with at least three years of post-doctoral experience.
-Knowledge on viral diseases in animals, vaccinology and Immunology.
-Proved research skills: Literature review, experimental design and implementation, data analysis, and scientific article writing.
-Dissemination skills: presentation/communication skills, and technical writing.
-Capacity to successfully develop collaborative research links with national and international research organizations.
-Participation in animal experiments and in experiments with established cell cultures and primary cultures.
-Experience with virological and molecular biology research technologies, such as: virus production and titration, microscopy, immunofluorescence, PCR and sequencing techniques, immunology techniques, such as flow cytometry, and/or functional studies.Specific RequirementsDesirable requirements
-Experience in other more advanced techniques such as cloning, CRISPR/Cas, transfections/transductions, infectious clones, RNAseq.
-Advanced immunology techniques applied to the study of the pathogenesis of viral infections.
