assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staffin the Department Automatic Control and Computer EngineeringJob description:1) the competition for this position is open to applicants, who meet the requirements specified in the Act from 20th July 2018 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws from 2021, item 478, as amended) and the Statute of the Cracow University of Technology (attachment to the Senate resolution no. 54/o/05/2019, from 3rd May 2019, § 58) for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff,2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2024,3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, full-time employment contract, tenure track4) the first period of employment: fixed-term from 1.10.2024 to 30.09.2026.5) represented scientific discipline (at least 75%)6) The salary is adequate to the post and university provisions.1. Necessary requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in the faculty discipline Automatic control, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies or Information and communication technology (ICT) or related disciplines
• Significant achievements during master and/or doctoral studies and/or previous professional career, including scientific publications on the list journals and conferences announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Republic of Poland; monographs, patents, other didactic and organizational achievements
• Strong commitment to research, teaching and organizational work
• Very good command of English (B2 level minimum) and Polish (in case of foreigners)
• Completed pedagogical course or willingness to complete the course within the first year of employment

Taking part in research or R&D projects and experience in acquiring research grants are also welcome.2. Scope of tasks at the position of assistant professor in the group of researchand teaching staff:

• Preparing and conducting classes in Polish and/or English (including lectures) in the field of Computer Scienceand Engineering (undergraduate level) and/or Electrical Engineeringand Automatic Control (two levels). According to the employment regulations at the Cracow University of Technology the assigned teaching load is 240 class hours per academic year in accordance to professional competence (courses within Erasmus+ program and undergraduate courses in Computer Engineering studies in English are envisioned).
• Conducting scientific research (as part of a team or independent) documented in scientific publications mainly in the area of Automatic control, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies (official faculty discipline) documented by scientific publications on the list of journals and conferences announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, monographs, patents, participation in scientific projects, making reviews etc.

The faculty discipline is now ranked A and prospective employees are expected to significantly contribute to the next evaluation for the period
2022-2025.

• Working in research projects and cooperation with research teams, organizing scientific research, participating in applications for grants;
• Conducting lectures, supervising and reviewing B.E. and M.E. theses, consultations for students, carrying out exams, tests etc.
• Taking care of didactic laboratories, preparing instructions and didactic materials for conducted classes.
• Participation in academic seminars.
• Organizational work in the department, faculty and at the university, including taking part in university councils, committees etc.

3. Required documents:

• Application for employment as assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff addressed to the Rector of the Cracow University of Technology
• Detailed CV containing the course of previous education and employment
• Copies of documents certifying completion of full time studies with M.Sc / M.E. degree in the field the faculty discipline (or related)
• Copy of Ph.D. diploma in the faculty discipline or Computer Science/ Engineering, Information and communication technology (or related, if the candidate completed graduate studies in ICT)
• List of publications/patents and other achievements constituting the candidate’s scientific output in disciplines: Automatic control, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies or Information and communication technology (ICT) or related. Publicationsin journals and conferences included on the list announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Republic of Poland, on 5th January, 2024 are preferred:

• Research plan considering the perspective of obtaining Doctor of Science degree (habilitation) – applies to candidates, who previously had position of assistant professor
• Letter of recommendation for the post of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff
• Document confirming good command of English, and in the case of foreigners a document confirming knowledge of Polish language
• Certificate of completion of a pedagogical course or commitment to complete the course within the first year of employment
• Personal questionnaire form available under the following link:
• Candidate’s declaration that the Cracow University of Technology will be his/her primary place of employment
• Statement of full legal capacity and no criminal record (according to the Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science).

Employment will take place after completing the procedure consisting of:

• evaluation of submitted documentation,
• recruitment interviews with candidates.
