We’re looking for a Low-power Design Engineer to join our Eindhoven team.
What you’ll do:

Contribute to artificial intelligence SoC designs, which will be used in wearable devices that lead to exciting launches of hardware at Snap;

Work with the IP and SoC architects and designers to specify, model, and design state-of-the-art power management and other low-power features for our ASICs;
-
Define protocols to control power at various hierarchy levels;
-
Implement low-power features, such as power controllers, power islands, on-chip power switches, clock trees with detailed clock gating, low-power memories, state retention infrastructure;

Implement the associated UPF, constraints, and other control files;
-
Integrate power features in our physical-aware synthesis flows, using those UPF and control files;

Analyze the PPA results, with respect to power consumption, and provide timely and accurate feedback to our other design teams,

Be an integral part of a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers and scientists, and a key driver of the team’s further growth

Author clear and comprehensive documentation about the power management protocols, power design flows, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art low-power design for e.g. CPUs, micro controllers, AI processors, computer vision solutions;
-
Deep understanding of the end-to-end software implications of power management solutions;
-
Experience with RTL design methodologies and languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL)
-
Understanding of physical aspects of silicon design, i.e. impact of design choices on timing, area, and power consumption;
-
Experience with PPA analysis
-
Solid modeling, programming and scripting skills (2+ years of e.g. Tcl, Python, C, SystemC, C++)
-
Proactive, flexible, team player with can-do attitude and excellent problem analysis skills

Proven experience in process development and documentation
-
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Minimum Qualifications:
-
MSc degree in related field such as electrical engineering or equivalent years of experience
-
3+ years of experience in similar roles in an industrial setting
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art verification methodologies and languages (e.g. UVM), and verification of ASIC designs, in the broadest sense;
-
Analyzing coverage results;

Working knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, neuromorphic compute
-
Experience with common requirement management practices, software engineering tools such as Gitlab, etc.
