Job description

Offer DescriptionContextGlioblastoma is the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor in humans, with a median survival of around 15 months. Standard treatment (STUPP protocol) has not been modified since 2005 and, although tumors generally relapse, no significant improvement has been achieved clinically in recent years using alternative approaches, such as anti-angiogenic treatments and immunotherapies. This represents an unmet need.PhD ProjectIn this context and building on the promising results obtained by the team, the candidate will develop different redox-active and cytotoxic copper complexes by combining different chemical and biological tools as well as clinically relevant 3D models of glioblastoma. The successful candidate will be integrated into the BiosCiences team of the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille, and will join the interdisciplinary consortium of an INSERM-funded PCSI project.Funding category: Contrat doctoralPHD title: Doctorat de Chimie
PHD Country: FranceRequirementsSpecific RequirementsThe candidate must have a background in chemistry and good motivation for research. Knowledge of organic and inorganic synthesis as well as coordination chemistry and spectroscopic techniques will be valuable.A good level of oral and written English will be appreciated to integrate into this international team.Additional InformationWork Location(s)Number of offers available 1 Company/Institute Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille UMR CNRS 7313 Aix-Marseille Université Country France City Marseille GeofieldWhere to apply WebsiteSTATUS: EXPIRED
