About the roleThe Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) at UCL wishes to make an appointment at either Lecturer or Associate Professor level to start from 1st July 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.We seek candidates to join the Information and Communications Engineering Group (ICEG), with a proven track research record in the areas of communications and networking, both wired and wireless. We expect the candidate to contribute the Internet 2050 vision of UCL’s Institute of Communications and Connected systems and join our world leading researchers in contributing to that vision.The person appointed will be responsible for the initiation of new research areas; the participation, coordination or leadership of research consortia involving other academic staff; becoming key partners in new national and international funded collaborations; and managing bids for such funding.We would expect the candidate to contribute to a range of teaching within the department and the faculty including but not limited to teaching telecommunication networks, programming, computer networking and network security, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and/or wireless and mobile systems, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.About youApplicants should have a PhD or equivalent qualification in electronic engineering or a closely related discipline. We are seeking individuals with experience in data networks (wired or wireless). A demonstrated track record of publications in international journals and conferences relevant to EEE is essential. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Experience of teaching in a university environment is desirable, as well as experience of experimental network and communication links design.Appointment at Lecturer or Associate Professor level will be determined by depth of experience and track record. For Grade 9, you will show sustained and repeated contributions to the subject area or body of knowledge, and a sustained publication record, which demonstrates the potential to produce significant contributions to the discipline. You will demonstrate widespread connections across national and/or international subject community, including active collaborations/contact with leading figures in subject area. Experience in developing and delivering new courses is required.Application details:The following is required to be uploaded in your application:
