Job Description:Permanent, Full time 36 hours per week.The CDIT project office will be based in the Titanic Quarter Campus, but the successful applicant may be required to work in any of the Colleges buildings, as necessary.Job purpose: The Centre for Digital Innovation & Technology (C.D.I.T) is a unique partnership between Queens University Belfast, Belfast Metropolitan College and Stranmillis University College which was initiated through the Belfast region City Deal. It aims to create a shared centre to advance digital innovation, enhancement of software development and diffusion of technology through a skills-based approach. The centre aims to develop industry relevant skills through a shared multi-disciplinary environment that enables:

  • Industry and academia to co-create an educational experience for students based upon project based learning;
  • Industry to access expertise and resources to tackle the digital innovation opportunities/challenges facing their business;
  • Responsive bite sized upskilling and reskilling of those in the workforce and students, supporting lifelong learning through a bite-sized micro credential approach;
  • Embeds digital skills training within initial teacher education programmes and professional development pathways through an innovative partnership with Stranmillis University College, helping to establish the basis of a strong digital spine across NI’s education system;
  • Future scoping of digital skills needs for industry and the education sector, enabling the architecture for education and skills to evolve with the pace of technology developments.

CDIT will also lead on the development and delivery of the Belfast Digital Skills and Employability Programme funded by the Bank of America over the next 3 years rolling out a range of digital skills academies to a range of disadvantaged groups.
The CDIT Project Manager will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and co-ordination of the programme of work for CDIT which will include management of the delivery of the Bank of America funded Digital Employment Academies and the BringITon programme in partnership with the Curriculum Hub and the Cyber First Project Manager.The CDIT Project Manager will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders ensuring close co-ordination with the Cyberfirst Project Manager to deliver on a comprehensive programme of work and the activities. The main focus of CDIT work will be Belfast but will also involve occasional engagement in regional events across Northern Ireland with occasional travel across the UK to attend other programme meetings.Securing the support and managing the engagement of a range of community and social partners will be a key factor in the success of the CDIT programme ensuring that it delivers socially inclusion opportunities and helps bridge the digital divide.This work will involve linking with the Department for the Economy, Bank of America and the Digital Skills Programme Steering Group to provide quarterly activity reports including mapping of KPIs and outcomes.
