1. The post holder will provide expert clinical advice, supervision and support to the health visiting skill mix team around specific Public health matters (including Domestic Violence, Infant feeding, Accident prevention and Safeguarding)
2. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of expert high quality family centred Primary Health Service to a defined population including those within the Early help neighbourhood and Children’s Centres boundaries within the London Borough of Newham.
3. .The post holder will work as part of the quadrant Integrated team to support the Integrated team Managers and Clinical Team Leaders in ensuring that each member of the health visiting team is competent, able to meet the full needs of clients and operates to high standards; to deliver the 0-5 mandated Healthy Child programme within the London borough of Newham to deliver expert personalised and culturally sensitive care and support to clients and groups.
4. The post holder will support the Clinical Team Leaders with the days to day operational management and team leadership to ensure effective delivery of the community health services in partnership with key partners and stake holdersJob Context
1. The post holder reports to The Clinical Team Leader / Integrated Team Manager. The post holder has line management responsibility for band 6 equivalent health visitors, Nursery nurses and other members of the skill mix team.
2. The post holder has no delegated budget responsibility
3. To provide a health visiting service to all children and their families based on the national 4, 5, 6 health visiting model and evidenced by the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years (HCP).
4. To manage an individual caseload he/she works as part of a locality team in collaboration with statutory and voluntary agencies to promote the health and wellbeing of the local children, young people and their families to deliver personalised and culturally sensitive care
5. To Work within relevant national and local guidance e.g. NSF, NICE and CHPP guidance, policies and procedures e.g. record keeping, infection control, vulnerable children and families and the Early Help frame work within the London Borough of Newham.KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrates an up to date and in-dept knowledge of current clinical practice and maintains credibility by developing a good understanding of practice issues affecting clinical/non-clinical staff within the clinical areas, and by continuing own training and professional development
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of current issues in community nursing legislation and statutory guidance relating to the designated function
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant current health care legislations /policies at local and national level
  • Understanding Risk Management, Clinical governance, audit and outcomes including clinical risk management
  • Awareness of data, its use and requirement within the local council and NHS

Expected salary

£37 per hour
