DescriptionReporting to the Executive Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing various sized commercial and retail projects of a construction and refurbishment nature for values between £10,000 and £1.5m.The primary role of the Project Manager will be ensuring that the allocated projects are run efficiently and profitably ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner, within programme and to the total satisfaction of our client.Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing, managing and training of Trainee Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Site Managers/Supervisors and direct trade operatives.
  • To be competent in the understanding of the contract design and construction drawings.
  • Relay/discuss relevant information with the client, their agent or on-site personnel.
  • Managing specialist domestic and nominated sub-contractors.
  • Enforcing and monitoring Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
  • Attendance of regular site meetings with client, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Planning Supervisor etc.
  • Preparation of contactor’s reports for site meetings, contract programmes and progress reports.
  • Pricing and agreeing instructions with the client or client’s agent.
  • Formulating valuations and final accounts.
  • Preparation of tender/estimates and assist the Estimator in the preparation of tenders/estimates.
  • Monitor and report on job profitability.
  • To ensure that all specific materials ordered are received on or before their due delivery dates.
  • To check and authorise purchase invoices.
  • To verify and authorise trade operatives time sheets on a weekly basis.
  • To ensure that the allocated fleet of company vehicles is maintained and looked after to an acceptable, presentable and safe standard.
  • Attendance of regular report and update meetings with Senior Management.
  • To procure, negotiate terms and monitor the performance of sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • To identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
  • Procurement of new clients and suppliers.
  • Deal with, record and investigate any complaints received with regards to any aspect of the service that we provide.
  • Ensure that acceptable levels of customer care are provided at all times.
  • To provide cover for other associated staff during times of absence.
  • Regular use of our bespoke computer system and other software packages.
  • We undertake contracts and projects for varied companies that require our employees to undertake clearances along with an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service clearance.

It should be noted that the duties and responsibilities might not include or be limited to the information given above as these may vary from time to time, depending on the contracts in hand and in accordance with the Directors discretion.This is a full time position and hours of work will be 42 hours per week.07:45hrs to 17:15hrs Monday – Thursday07:45hrs to 16:45hrs FridayThis will also involve daily travel and possible working away from time to time as deemed necessary for the needs of the business.Essential Requirements

  • Construction related qualification i.e. HNC/HND/BSc
  • GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above in English Language, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Experience of working within a similar environment
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Competent in the use of a range of IT packages
  • Proficient in Health & Safety legislation and compliance
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Positive attitude and the ability to integrate and be an active part in the team
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines
  • You must hold a full current UK driving licence and have had 6 months driving experience since passing your test
  • Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, MOJ CTC clearance, MOD vetting clearance and enhanced police clearance.

  • Qualification in ILM Management or equivalent
  • Knowledge and ability to use Procore
  • Knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD or Bluebeam
  • CSCS Card
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
