Register your interest to join us in shaping the future of space.We are looking for an Electric Propulsion Engineer to join our dynamic team in Italy. In this important role, you will work in the Propulsion engineering area, where you will work on the design of the electric propulsion s/s of a new GEO satellite bus. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians to design, analyze, test, and integrate high-performance propulsion systems.Key Responsibilities:– Design and development of propulsion subsystem composed by hall thruster-based propulsion technology.
– Follow and review performance, lifetime, and reliability analyses for EP systems, ensuring compliance with agency and internal standards.
– Management of technical coordination between multiple suppliers.
– Develop test plans to validate the performance of EP systems.
– Follow the development and the qualification of HTU, PPU and pressure vessels.
– Regularly reporting to the Head of Propulsion and Lead System Engineer.Qualifications and requirements:– At least 1 year of professional experience in electric propulsion engineering.
– Deep understanding of the functioning of electric propulsion systems, and of the disciplines involved.
– Experience planning and conducting tests with electric propulsion systems.
– Experience in lifetime testing.
– Knowledge of plasma phenomena by theory and simulation.
– Previous experience with Hall thruster.
– Previous experience with Power Processing Unit.
– Previous experience with EP s/s development and qualification.
– Strong experience in reading and creating P&ID’s.
– Strong experience and understanding of mechanical, fluidic, electrical, and logical interactions.
– Strong familiarity with ECSS standards.Preferential skills:– Model plasma phenomena by theory and simulation.
– Experience with pressurized systems.
– Experience with tanks development and qualification.
– Previous hands-on experience with Krypton.
– Previous experience in institutional project.
– Previous experience in In Orbit Servicing (IOS) project.Education:Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or plasma physics is required.
