Offer DescriptionIrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, located on the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol research campus, has an opening for a Pre-doctoral position in to participate in the investigation of the impact that HIV and COVID-19 infections have on the central nervous system, as well as the epigenetic mechanisms involve in these pathologies.The position is co-funded by the Càtedra de Malalties Infeccioses i Immunitat of the UVIC-UCC. In this context, the selected candidate will conduct his/her academic PhD follow-up at the UVIC-UCC.Under the direction of the principal investigator and the associate researcher, the applicant carries out daily activities in the laboratory for the development of doctoral thesis framed in the context of the NeuroEpiCas’ project.Details: BSL2, BSL3 and BSL3 plus techniques for identification of epigenetic mechanisms and biomarkers validation in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid and functional in vitro experiments for testing new antiviral drugs will be the major tasks in which the predoctoral fellow will be trained. The emerging results will also be discussed and presented in meetings during the course of the PhD.RequirementsResearch Field Biological sciences » Biology Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/Qualifications
